Ofcourse that could happen if. But thats one of the long-term-issues we gotta deal with.

assuming that a big bad meteor killed off the dinosaurs i think it raises our chances a lil bit although that is a very good point nem

There was a strange theory I heard about that cockroaches would be the last living thing on the planet as the can survive almost anything... A cockroach can exisit for up to a week without a head, they only die due the fact that without a head they have no mouth in order to drink water.... They can exist in temperatures as low as -32 degrees celcius... and they can exist in areas of high radiation... These insects are here to stay ;D oh for those interested see roachcom.net/rofacts

Cat, when we dont involve our intelligence on surviving (huh lol ;D), insects got the biggest chance.. ofcourse now we got it bcuz we can build things to fly away or whatsoƫver...
But hey.. i thought about this.. I think, when we really ARE in trouble (like that kinda situation) and we cant stop the thing.. maybe then we'd also find out if aliens will help like ppl say they would hehehe ;D

Maybe if they could give a crap about us. But we haven't exactly greeted them with open arms. Take a look at how we represent them in most of our creative endeavours.

The problem with the shelter idea is that the environmental impact could be so severe that it could change our atmosphere enough to make it uninhabitable for humans.

Yeah but thats if. Everything is IF. IF we dont survive the cockroach probably would. But thats only IF the impact is real big. IF it wont pass anyway..

This whole topic is based on a What IF. I am just following the string of worst case scenario Someone has to or there would be no discussion Cat, severe enough climatic and atmospheric changes could wipe out plant and animal life. So there would be nothing to farm and nothing to produce oxygen Then this would become Planet of The Roaches!

yes but if you were to take a small cavern, seal it, light it with lamps suitible for growing and fill it with plants and housing you could survive their indefinatly. as long as you harvested some seeds
