Does anyone know how inscense and it's supposed spiritual effects started? Does anyone believe that it can actually relax the mind or increase your spirituality? I burn the stuff every now and then because it smells good and I believe it really does relax the mind.

Pinewax mixed with etherical oil and other stuff. You light it up and it'll glow spreading scented smoke.
The same stuff they use in the Catholic church.
Oh and I dont think the incense (that's how you spell it ;D) causes the relaxation by it's ingredients.. I believe your mind relaxes and makes endorfines to relax yourself
