To be honest...
Mother nature is the one who chooses when people die and such. So technically, she has control over time. And she is never late with it.. just sometimes is forced to be early due to some human idiocy

You cant control time.. because time always goes forward in a (as alienh said) continuous thread. We cán give it a name though.. simply said, it's that when we measure a continuous movement from Earth arround the sun and give it a name (e.g. year) Or, to be scientiffically correct, the second is the duration of 9,192,631,770 periods of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine levels of the ground state of the caesium-133 atom.

as for my theory, there are an infinite amount of threads that predict when you're going to die. It all depends on the actions of everyone else and yourself.
Nothing is set in stone, you have the choice to change anything. Fate is not Fate, only what you believe it to be...

No, there are things which áre.. for example, a cube ALWAYS has 6 equal sides.. you cant change that without changing it to something different than the cube.

even if you don't believe in fate.. things will happen and you'll soon realize that those "things" are similar to it. Subconsciously, we all believe in fate.. or so, that's how I see it. One way or another, we link things to it.. wether you take that link into your own hands, is your choice.. but it happens!

Ummm whats fate got to do with time? I belive that time was created by human thought and its is capable of change as our perceptions change. How many times have we seen afternoons fly by like seconds but have minutes feel like hours? Perception is the key thing about time. The affects of time have also been theoreticly been shown to slow down the closer an object or person reaches the speed of light. Therefore we cannot rely on the ordered tick of a second to dictact what time is. Therefore if it was ever possible to break the speed of light it may be possible to travel backwards in time in a flux of anti-time?
