[glow=purple,2,300] is the world too technologically advanced for it's own good?
don't get me wrong I don't want the world to have no technology but isn't this getting to be a bit much...
I can understand why some people think the more advanced the better but I think we're killing ourselves off in the process of becoming an "advanced society"...
the stronger bombs one country makes the stronger, faster and better hidden bombs another country makes...
I personnally believe that too much is just too much...how about you guys?

I agree totally. I'm sick of all this. It's ok if it's in the name of science, but with weapons and stuff it's getting a little scary. There is no such thing as a hero anymore cause war is fought only with computers. It's crap. Plus the population is getting out of hand. If they can think of some kind of technology to get rid of lower the population, then I'd be fine  But yeah it is kind of out of hand. Teej |

[glow=purple,2,300]well that technology is ok but to a certain extent...I mean when it's to the point that a hand held computer tells you when to go the bathroom and the cell phone is so damn small you can barely find it...then it's just a bit much
as for medical technology..I'm all for it, if you can make someone's death less painful, then GREAT but don't try and bring back the bloody dead or create doubles of them...ENOUGH is enough....
and as for war technology...NO MORE....gun's are getting easier to conceal and easier to use, for love's sake small children in the third world are fighting the war, they're being taught to fire weapons, it's horrible
and planes, well there almost undectetable, sure that's great...until your house is being bombed by one...
it's just getting way out of hand, we're killing ourselves thinking that we're doing ourselves good...

Ah crap! Technology doesnt bring us only bad things!  I can see why you say such a thing, cuz I dont like bad tech either. But you have to see it compared to what GOOD things technology brings us.
And anyway, technology is stuck for now... the only thing we can work on is urselves.

I agree totally. Most of the technology we have right now is good. But some of it is bad as well. Like medicine and stuff is good. But nuclear bombs and stuff isn't.

Yeah, we may not of have won WWII. But look at the situation we are in now. Pakistan and India are not very friendly with each other and they are both nuclear powers. If they start blasting the hell out of eachother it's not only going to effect eachother, that nuclear stuff is in the air and it can reach anyone on the planet. Maybe nuclear bombs was a bad example, but you get the idea anyways.

and I understand how you say that WW2 prolly wouldn't been won by our side without them...but would that war have been started?
Consider...you're some crazy guy that thinks only certain people blessed with the right genes are allowed to live and you want everyone else dead...you gonna arm your men with giant sticks and expect em to take out 3/4 of the world or you gonna give them new technological weapons that kill from a distance?
I say we've gone too far...weapons beyond a tranquilizer stuff and things like that should never hve been created....

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about Nem, if Bin Laden or some weirdo got hold of one. That would be bad news.
Those are good points, bunny. But it goes against human nature to be peaceful. We always need stronger and better weapons so we can kill eachother more efficiently. It's sad but true.

u pipol are forgeting the fact that technology didnt create violence...
it made it possible to kill more with less effort BUT it also made it possible to heal and help pipol
so i think it all just evens out in the end
