Id say no too, but not bcuz of that. Id say bcuz when some other alien race would attack, we'd probably loose bcuz we are probably too stupid compared to them.

We kill each other over scraps of land, religions, skin colour, even for fun. People just aren't capable of a truly united front. Not on a worldwide scale. Too many issues from the past.

I would say some of them as seen from the 2 world wars nations such as United States, Australia and Great Britain were able to join forces against a common threat.

This again happened in the war against the Taleban.

I just don't believe that all the countries of the world could trust each other without someone seeing it as a good covert way of invading another country under the banner of peace.

of course that after the threat is eliminated there will be wars again... and maybe even more than before coz of the confusion but i think they will all join hands and kick someone elses ass for a change ;D

I think the countries that have a close union will join together but rather than there being one union there will probably be several different factions fighting the threat.

Problem being is that once/if that threat is taken care of what is to stop us from turning on each other in an attempt to seize total world power.
