How about this, both animals and humans enjoy killing, but humans enjoy it to a sick extreme (for example torture, using slow, painful chemicals or germ-warfare to kill eachother). Does that make more sense??

most humans, the average human, would not enjoy torturing another creature. (even less if that creature is human.)
Humans do it (saddam for that matter) when its useful. When its needed to satisfy their needs. (belief or survival or economic or megalomaniacal or all, it doesn't matter.) Not many humans are sadists...

It doesn't help much to have bad parents, though. Something like 80% of all people brought up with really shitty parents could use psychological help or something. I can't remember the percentage exactly.
