with so many tv shows, movies, adverts, and toys about aliens, most of them being the grey type.
do you think that we as a species are being slowly intergrated in excepting this alien race to our culture.
so when the big news comes out , it would not be a huge shock and no panic wildfire.

I think that there have been very limited contact and it was by accident. Crashes and so on and by far no regular contact....
The human race is inheritaly fearful of those who are different. If we try to kill people of our own race because of skin colour or beliefs can you imagine what we would do to complete different intelligent life.
Who would be privy to regular contact?
The milatary? They would see the technilogical threat they posses and try to destroy/steal it.
The governments? There would be at least one leak in 50 years its not like it would have been a one of event.

Leaks yes but ones that have been proven conclusively correct - especialy from politicans who have a reputation of truth instead of lies (the point I was making)  If there were we would not be on this site discussing the possiblity of life on other planets, or whether those leaks are real... |

As for the miltary yes I know there have been many case of unknown sources of technology turning up... I based the statement on the view point of the alien visitors would they really choose to give that technology to us by choice? When they must know that we would turn it against ourselves and try to destroy the world with it? Or more likely them?

Who is to say they wouldn't give it to us so that we would destroy ourselves? It would certainly save them the effort. At the moment all the popular culture and leaks add up to a fantastic disinformation campaign. Provide a snipit here and there of realistic sounding info, followed up by a million tonnes of crap. It seems designed to make people less inclined to believe, making it all seem over the top with huge conspiracies and so on. Which in itself would be a huge conspiracy, winding the paradox even tighter. If it was to soften the blow of introducing them, why turn them into the enemy so often? With the tales of alien abductions, probings, invasions do you really think an intelligent species would choose to land anywhere near us? it certainly doesn't encourage us to welcome them with open arms. |
