Next sunday, August 18th, an 500 metre (1/3 mile) broad asteroid will pass Earth at 300.000 km distance (187500 miles), according to 'Nederlands Onderzoeksschool Voor Astronomie*' (NOVA).
Asteroid 2002NY40 can easilly seen with good binoculars.
