Why did you have to go...

I did not even
get to touch your face..
kiss your cheak,
hold you in my arms.
I can't believe
but a moment ago,
we spoke-
shared words,
and I told you
how I loved you so.
And now,
a moments breath away-
death has taken you...
it's so unreal.
I could damn circumstance,
scream at fate;
give him back
he is not yours.
But who is to say
you belonged to me
anymore then any dream.
So I cry,
lost in pain.
Now that your gone-
I feel so bleak.
Somehow I will understand
in time why you
did what you did.
But even so,
the pain will not ease.
This is in memory of Jacob. A friend on line that commited suicide August 18; one year ago.
