Dutch colonists experimented with hard- and softdrugs, according to some archeologists from South Africa. They dug up Dutch pipes, which were, apart for its original purpose of tobaco-pipe, used to smoke nutmeg and laurelleaves. That was discovered after they performed a chemical analysis of two stone pipes.
This analysis suggest Dutch colonists, as they still do today, were very busy experimenting with all kinda kitchen-herbs in the 16th century.

This is acutally not as uncommon as many think. Take for example the Indians. They were known to smoke what we today call 'weed'. And this is why they were known to charge recklessly into battle.

I would hope not, lol. It isn't a comforting thought to think of our forefathers all high on weed or cocain. After all many of their declearations are what lead to modern society and our beliefs.

actually teej, I'd rather have them normal than to have them on anything from weed to LSD..but hey.. who am I to decide?
