Psychics and ghosts

Why do ghosthunters take along psychics when they go "hunting?" Psychics are not even considered to exist by the scientific community, yet to prove to scientists that ghosts exist ghosthunters still depend on them. This causes the scientific community to immediately refute any findings that the ghosthunters come across. Any ideas?

I think they take them for another person's point of view. But hey, don't ask me I'm not a psychic and I've never been on a ghost hunt with one.

If a psychic is able to 'tune in' to psychic activity more accurately than a 'normal' person than it is reasonable to take such a person along on a ghost hunt.

There is growing evidence within scientific fields that psychics do have a gift that we can not understand. Indeed this is the work that parapychologists are most interested in prooving or disprooving psychic gifts.

There are a growing number of scientists who do not say such things do not happen because they cannot happen. After all which one of us has ever seen a radio wave, but we accept that these things exist because we see, and cannot deny, the results.

However to say that ghost hunters depend on the 'psychic' to confirm hauntings is false. There has been a number of other pieces of evidence that has been collected that does not soley rely on the testimony of that gifted person.

Perfectly ordinary people have seen ghosts in fact according to current statistics one in every ten people will see a ghost in their lifetime. Once they have seen one they are also more likely to see another.

I have a couple problems with your statements:

And every science experiment can be repeated, otherwise tested by different scientists, and the same results will be achieved. There have been numerous tests done (even by the U.S. government) that state the experimentation of psychics cannot be repeated, therefore making them unreliable sources of information. Why aren't psychics right 100% of the time? Why only 15% or 20%?

i think a better question is why not?! Because you don't believe, is that all?

Well with all the frauds out there, if psychics DO exist it would be hard as hell to prove it. I believe that some people do have a power, but I also believe 95% of the people out there who say they are psychic are frauds.

Which still leaves 5% who are, therefore the psychic abilities have to be seriously considered.

Rare yes but there has been too many cases of its results to be dismissed alltogether

Well, speaking as an Experienced Paranormal Investigator we take Mediums, not Psychics along.

We take Mediums along because sometimes they can give us information into the History of the location and even the people that used to live there that we otherwise wouldn't know.

We also take them along because they can often point us in the direction where the "activity" is most likely to be, making our jobs essentially easier.

I've always found real Mediums to be a great help, although fake Mediums are a great annoyance in this field.

Psychics are completely useless in this field though as Psychics pick up on the Sub-Conscious level of the person they're reading. Mediums are the ones who are in communication with Spirit. I suggest you get some knowledge of the side that you're trying to argue for before you start a debate.

How do you know if a medium is real or not?? I was just wondering.

Well, you don't until you've tried them!

For example I went out with one group who took a Medium along, he knew nothing about where we were going although the rest of us knew a little history. He made up a huge story about a woman jumping off the building when in fact that had never been documented at all... He also filled in the gaps a lot and basically talked s**t.

Whereas we went out last weekend, again both the Mediums we took went in blind (ie they didn't know where we were going until we got there!), we knew a woman had hanged herself and the place had been a plague hospital... Both the Mediums picked up on these almost immediately. And throughout the night they picked up on things that nobody really knew... Like one of our Mediums picked up on a particular staircase but we couldn't find the one she was referring to and asking the owners didn't help us at all... In the end a waitress who had worked their before the current owners had bought it told us that there had been another staircase that had been covered over or removed by not the previous owners, but the owners before them and nobody else knew about it except her we were just lucky she was working there on the night...

That's a cool story. Yeah, you definitely would not want some fake. Do you think a medium has special powers of some kind, or do you think ghosts just find something about certain people that makes it easier for them to communicate to??

I'm not really sure what it'd be classed as... I always figured it's a gift. I think there's a reason why some people can do this and others can't and that it's a gift bestowed upon you so you can help others and do some good in your life...

NO, everyone on earth have the ability to see and sense ghost or spirit because ghost and spirit can live on both planes that living and the astral, it just that some people are more intune with their senses
