what kind of sleep or dream would it be if you were half awake and half sleeping...not "knowing" that you were dreaming but hearing the outside (real outside) while you are dreaming? I dont know if you understand that but ok example: I had gotten to sleep a couple hours before and when I was dreaming...the noise went along with my dream ( I think my mother's voice) and it got a little louder until I woke up and realized it was my mom actually talking to me and not just a dream.

I think.. that would be 1st state or the beginning stages of lucid dreaming.. to the point where you acknowledge there's movement in the real world but in the dream world you are there as well.. it happens to me almost every night..

There are a hundred steps of consciousness from awake and dying. I'd say that's somewhere near step 10. Sorry, I just thought I'd throw that in. Whatever it is I just call it dozing off
