I lie awake,
Staring into the darkness,
Blink away the tears,
Push away the fears,
And crawl toward the numbness,
Sanity slowly falls away,
Deeper and deeper I crawl,
Further deep inside,
It burns as I crawl deeper within,
Begging you to haunt me,
To let me finally see,
Through my frozen skin,
Screaming as the pain,
Threatens to drown me,
Drain all my innocence,
Or what innocence I’ve left,
In this empty body,
Tattered and torn,
Bloody and battered,
I close my eyes,
To let death finally,
Steal my last breath,
Upon death I shattered,
Only to be reborn.
