Promise Kept Between Lovers

I remember the day when
we found ourselves together
we delighted in our thoughts
we charished the time together
we were alone in the moment
we were apart from everything going on around us
for but only those moments shared
we were ourselves
we were not some cold
heartless undestructable uncaring team
we felt love caring pain, emotion together
we knew each other in every way
we shared everything openly
At first we were different and were what they
thought we were
it was how we were that brought us together
but how we became that kept us together
The complications of everything happening
around us including our roles in it brought us apart
Like then, I chose to not bring
everything going on around us in
to taint our timespent together
I know not how you chose to remember things
but I choose to never forget
and keep my promise
that we made to one another
