Most weird of all is the fact that when it concernes people on the particular painting, some culteres produce more 'alike' paintings than others..
For example, if you look at paintings made by chinese artists in 1500BC, Id say they look incredibly real. But if you look at paintings made in Europe arround 600 AD, those are not realistic at all... 
I found out that it got to do with culture and not with time...

it got to do with religion
cristianity didnt allow 3D pictures and jeduism didnt allow painting at all

It has to do with religion, but not in a -you-are-not-allowed-way-. It has everything to do with perception, and that is based, in some sorta way, also on religion.
Who says jeduists cannot paint?

the bible says that
it says that u shouldnt make yarself a picture or statue
dunno hows that in yar translated bible but its right there on the commandments
well jewish ppl didnot paint and made statues... religious ones....
and were talkin in a time where everyone were religious...
the perception today is different ofcourse... but thats how it was...
whos yar favorite mid ages jewish artist? ;D
and why is the other thing crap?

The religious thing was crap ;D Yep it says the same in my translation.. BUT I said; its crap that christians OR jews cannot paint  and the bible doesnt say that..

I think it is a misinterpretation of the graven images thing. All the false idol crap. But the religious texts of most faiths are so full of holes and contradictions who can really hold them as truth.

The muslims are definitely forbidden from creating realistic images or art. It is in the Qoran. So for artistic visual expression they tend to create mosaics and geometric patterns.
