Now, if you want a serious answer... Ninjas are trained to blend in with their surroundings. The black suits they wear (it's not only in the movies) are worn to stop and light from shining on the skin. That is why it is normally made of cotton and not nylon or polyester. or leather. (yeah... I'm sure some of you guys would love to see a guy dressed in skintight leather...) Wool would be too hot.
Those suits are completely black so they can blend into the shadows. This would work wherever there is not much light or a backdrop of light. In a jungle, forest, cave, building, etc.

to get back on the topic after so long the first "invisibility" won't be invisibillity as we know it. it will be advanced camoflaug and other intruments ment to mask not hide. The first of these suits will be the future warrior 2025 and Objective force/land warrior 2 programs end results. Cameloan suits that help a soldier and operative blend into the background.
