my great grandfather told me this poem since i was old enough to know what it meant.
Hold my hand, Misery Walk with me, Sorrow Be near me, Torture Converse with me, O Woe Dance with me, darkness of Pain Counsel me, my Dismay Torture me, hate me, put fear in me, deny me, betray me I don’t mind your tormenting games Play again! Play again! Amuse me with your wretched ways Mock me with your deceit Burn my spirit with your lies I desire to loathe in your foul shadow You tempt me, O depraved Wickedness But know, I do stand alone Your agonizing face charms me Envelop me with your ribbons of lies Break me with intensity of heartache Everybody else does You may as well enjoy yourself Do it again! Again! Play with my emotions See if I care Go ahead… Tinker with fate, see where you get

I like it...but not all the emotions that it brings me... To many bad memories within those words.

I like it. Where did your grandfather find this? I mean......do you know who the author is?

It really is a strong poem full of negativity but also strength that the person is able to go on from such adversity.
I like it

actually, it is part of a song that my great grandfather sang to me. it has deep roots within our family. he is the "author" and has had a very bad life. luckily, the rest of us were able to learn from his determination and strength. i first learned it when i was old enough to speak. this is the translated version. ~Shadow

What did your grandfather go through Shadow, if I may ask? The poem is very emotional and deep.

the poem is actually about how he overcame everything he went through. there's a few of us in our family that were born with a special gift, (he was one of them.) he was wongfully persecuted and beaten for the very things he belived in and for how he perceived things. he was very wise, however not that smart. lots of people hated him for everything that he said. they more or less judged him before they even knew him. he sang to me about things like that to make me a stronger person and teaching me to overcome obstacles in my way. i miss him very much.
